Hi I just acquired a 2005 Yamaha Vino in excellent condition and was looking to start with a budget build without breaking the wallet. I have seen many people on YouTube starting with the CVT. Which Variator kit is recommended for a stock 50cc 2T engine. Thanks

Remove the exhaust and there are three little welds on the inside of the pipe that hold a little funnel type thing in. I used a my straight die grinder(or a Dremel) and burr bits.if I knew how I would add a picture of the before amd after that I took.

Sometimes you can wiggle and break the welds on the restrictor with a large screwdriver.

What exactly make these variators better than stock as far as top speed? They are much better quality than the stock one. The stock one isn't machined as well, so doesn't shift as good. The sport variator also has bigger rollers. These are much smoother in action than the stock ones.

the after market variators shift better and are justa little larger so you have a higher gear ratio
When you take the stock variator off you will see a wear mark on the variator face from the belt, it does not get with in 5mm of the outer edge . so you are using only about 83mm of the usable 93 mm variator
The aftermarket variators are 95mm or better and you can use 89-90 mm of the face . The stock belt works best with these variators
