I noticed last night it was hard to get my vino to start. It was about 45°F. I know in some places up north people will put block heaters onto diesel engines(maybe gas engines too IDK I'm in Missouri and it doesn't always get that cold here). Would that be something that would help in the morning? Or would I possibly damage something by doing so?

My experience with the GY6 150 setup is that 45F is kind of the wall with the auto-choke. I switched over from the auto-choke to a manual enricher and was able to start it down to around 10F That was the limit for me wanting to run the machine. The factory extra lean conditions cause this. Also, using ethanol blend makes things worse. So your carb should be capable of starting at 45F, just need to richen up the starting circuit and/or low speed circuit. Or choking the air intake to reduce the leanness or richen that way
1. Try putting your hand over the airbox intake while starting. See if it makes a difference. 2. Richen up the low speed circuit, although that richen ups the warm engine as well. 3. Open up the enricher circuit somehow. Got me on how to do that. 4. Try non-ethanol gas during cold weather. 5. Convert to a manual enricher. 6. Someone tried playing around with a potentiometer knob in the auto choke to keep it on longer, don't know it it helped 7. A lot of people jump on the premium fuel, thinking it is some sort of miracle juice, but it has less energy and makes cold starting harder. If you use it and need it, I guess, but use regular for cold weather if you can.

Opps, forgot your question Is the Vino a 2 stroke? If so, a block heater is useless. That heats the engine oil I startup snowmobile 2 strokes down to -30F You need a richer cold start fuel mix.
