You don't need to add extra oil. It will Just take longer for the rings to seat. Just run it normally, but don't rev it sky high. It needs to be run through a variety of rpm for best results. These small engines are designed to lead quite hard life anyway. Most from new are ridden flat out as they make so little power.

It's good practice to ride it easy for the first couple of minutes so the engine gets time to warm up. After everything is up to operating temperature all clearances are where they need to be and wear will be at its minimum.

I break my kits in the ride it like you stole it method I don’t add extra oil I just run good oil all the time
I just let it warm up real well and then I just run it I just keep varying rpm’s for the first couple tanks of gas ,think streetlight to street light stop and go driving blast off let off go part throttle ride a couple blocks at one speed and then at another
These 2 strokes run at high rpm and like to be ready n hard no one buys a 2 stroke chain saw or lawn mower and runs it easy its full go from day one wide open

Thanx all for the info muchly appreciated ,one more thing do you all put the black cover that’s screwed to the side of the fan cover and goes around the cylinder back on or leave it off when doing a cylinder upgrade?is it just a sound deadening cover ?when I was modifying a fin so the spark plug temp ring would fit ,I was looking at it thinking how does air cool across these fins under that cover ?cheers. NOOO! That cover directs air across the fins, it MUST be on at all times!!

This is forced air cooling the black air shroud direct the air around the fins .
If this engine would need alot bigger fins to cool the engine if it did not have that shroud
