Ok sorry about this guys I'm at a stand still with deciding what belt I should use on my scooter. Here's my problem everyone says 669×18×30 is ok well I recently got a 100cc bore kit for it and changed the clutch springs to yellow. I thought the clutch was chewing up the belt so I went in sanded the pads enough to get the grim and other particles off it. Cleaned and relubed it like new (hahahaha) now when you try to start it it wants to go just starting it which isn't that big of a deal. But abone checking the movement of the belt for slack it bounced quite a bit. So will another size belt 729×17.5×30 work and perform better then the 669. I'm trying to get away from replacing the belt cuz it breaks and being on a limited income it's kind of a delema for me. And also what should I change the gears to in the trany for final drive. It gets up to 30-35 pretty quick but 40- 50 it's not so unless I'm going down hill the slider weight I'm using is 6gm and I weight a buck 45. I'm not trying to draw to much attention from unwanted eyes either I just want more speed getting up these hills with me and my girl on it both is around 300lbs

If it's trying to run away without giving it throttle. Then you either have a clutch problem, or the springs are too soft. Different brands use different colours for the strength springs. Like the springs, different manufacturers measure belts at different lengths. So you can't always compare like for like. I wouldn't think a longer belt would help. Perhaps a slightly stiffer contra spring might.

If you took it apart, and removed the clutch 'shoes', you might want to check that the springs are fully connected and the shoes retracted when still. The clutch should not start to engage, shoes pushing the inner of the clutch bell, until ~2k+ rpm is reached. Rpm is spring tension dependent. There may be a table(I have seen one) that crosses rpm to color, and so on(including torque spring color) in a recent post... But it should NOT engage at idle rpm, not even fast, cold idle rpm... tom
