I have purchased for repair a Sinnis Enncato 50. Scooter turns over, have spark, wont fire, went to charge battery and found this 3 wire connector with nothing connected to it. Any Idea's please.

The only way to know, unless you can find a wiring diagram, is to follow the wires to the other end. It is possible they do not belong where they are, as in most there's barely room for the two large cables. Someone may have fed them into the battery box with some intention to connect. None I have seen have a similar connector, but they are all older models. Have you tried squirting some fuel into the carb intake and then trying to start? That would be an indication that the engine will run if fed some fuel:air mixture. tom

Yeah, chase it down. I have seen various things added on, like trickle chargers, phones, gps, radio's, etc They often come with a pigtail that has one end attaching to the battery terminals and the other to a connector like you show If so, the pigtail may have went bye-bye long ago with a battery replacement. Or, its something else?

I have one equipped with a USB charging port under the seat. I have not checked to see how it is wired in, but it does not have wires in the battery box. Too many optional gizmos and means to install them to figure it out from the limited information, IMO. tom

Hi, thanks for your replies, the connector come out of the main wiring harness, so assumed a component would be connected.
I will cut the loom open and try and trace where it goes to.

Maybe a lot easier to find a wiring diagram, look up the colors of the wires(find them on the diagram) and see what they lead to. Cutting the loom covering will make a mess... I would not be surprised to find the connector does not belong in the battery box. If it is a late model(to me, anyway) it might be for something similar to the USB outlet I found in the seat bucket. I did not trace back its wires... If a USB was originally installed, it would need to be 'switched' as the ignition is ON/OFF to prevent draining the battery. That or connected to the output of the stator so it is powered only when the engine is running. Either way, it would involve some electronics(buck converter?) to provide 5V rather than the normal 12V generated on board. That gizmo may have been intended to ride in the battery box to protect from the elements. Mine with USB did not have presence in the battery box, FWIW. You can find wiring schematics/diagrams on this site. Or by searching the web. Many are generic and very similar model-to-model, brand-to-brand, with just about the same schematic used by all. Higher end models will have more 'stuff'... tom

It is always poor practice to have components or connections in the battery box due to corrosive fumes from the battery. Even that fuse is poorly placed, a very bad design.
