Another scooter I came across whilst searching the nether regions of the interweb for exotic scooter porn… From what I have been able to figure out, this one started as a scooter produced in the 60’s and 70’s in the former East Germany. It looks like the original did have the engine in the floor boards and the fuel tank under the seat. Got me thinking… it would be neeto to build something off a Chinese frame but stick the motor up front and turn the rear wheel with a chain. Probably start with any scooter and some mechanical bits and pieces from a Chinese go kart or 4-wheeler. Im thinking if it was built very naked (styled like a bobber or cafe racer) that it could be made to be very light, probably right at 200lbs…maybe a titch under.

There are some scooters with chain drive. Honda C90, the Suzuki FL125 Address come to mind. Could be easier than trying to convert something. The C90 has loads of bigger Chinese engines that fit it too.

That looks like more of an art form than a functional scoot. Any motorcycle engine could be fwd mounted for the same style..

The thing actually has good character. Riding it would require industrial grade lower body armour.

I'd love to see your take on that with a Chinese scoot. 50-90cc two-stroke youth ATV engines are setup for chain drive in many cases. If you wanna shift then a 125 or larger 2T MX engine would be amazing.
