The scooter start and idles then dies and won't re-start. I wonder about moisture in the tank. Any suggestions what to do?
TIA,

The water should sit below the fuel. You can drain it out into a clear container, by sucking on the vacuum line. If you leave it for a while, any water should sink to the bottom and form droplets, or a thin line of pure water.

Water mixed with gasoline drained into a jar will tend to stick together and form 'pearls' that sink to the bottom as H2O is denser than gasoline. You have to let the fuel sit for a short time, but it should be visible as a separate blob. Most times you will get intermittent misfire as the engine will not run on water, and sort of stumbles when it gets fed bad fuel. If you have enough, it will cause the engine to die when you are at idle rpms. tom

That's why I'm guessing there's moisture in the tank. Thanks for the replies. What about HEET? If I fill the tank with gas how much HEET should I add? TIA,

Drain the carb float bowl also. I can see a gas filter exposed on the left side of the motor. If I suck gas out from here will it solve the problem? TIA, keivno

Most float bowls have a boss on the bottom of the bowl that has a screw head(flat) visible. The screw will allow the bowl to drain through a black fuel line when opened(unscrewed a few turns). That allows the bowl to be drained for storage if desired, or emptied to be inspected if caught in a container. To drain the bowl, get a 8oz container, place it at the lower end of the line connected to the bottom of the float bowl, and loosen the flat-head screw a few turns. If there is fuel in the bowl, it should come out the fuel line to be collected. If you use a glass container, you can let the drained fuel sit for a while, and if there is water in the mix, it should precipitate and fall to the bottom of the container. It will form 'pearls' of water or a layer if there's a lot. Tighten the screw before allowing fuel to flow from the tank or you will have a mess that could be dangerous. Be careful around open containers with fuel inside as they can burn readily. tom

Heet, 355ml bottle treats 20 gallons, so 17ml treats one gallon. I assume the tank holds one gallon.
