I have a variator and the guides on top are worn out could i epoxy them and then file it?

New variators are cheap, just buy a new one rather than messing around with bogus fixes.

Yes like said above. Replacement. Even if you could fill it. It wouldn't last. The plastic guides have caused that. The plastic is supposed to be softer than the aluminium. So there must be a casting flaw, or very bad ally.
