Hello everyone, looking for some info on this kit and it's installation. First question is should the malossi 518852 came with a spacer to go behind the variator? Second question: do I have to remove the electric start components to install this kit? I've read that some people have and some haven't.

I have run the malossi variator on my roughhouse with the electric start . You would need the spacer if you removed the e start .

You will need lighter weights than the 7 gram that come with the variator . If you have upgraded the pipe or the cylinder kit .

Thank you, I have a 70cc polini sport to install and I'm waiting on a yasuni r. I think this will have me between 5 and 6. I have a range of rollers from a previous peddle moped project that are the same size to get me dialed in and then I'll probably switch to sliders.

Polini sport and Yasuni R is a solid combo .
When you put on that pipe you will need at least medium clutch springs so you start in the power band or your takeoff will suck. 5 to 6 gram is a good starting point.

I have a set of medium and hard, I thought one of those should be right. Should I get a soft torque spring? I thought the variator came with one but it came with medium.

If you are putting in another part order go ahead and get the soft springs and a variator shim kit.
To cut down on wear and tearr in the cvt I run the softest spring that keeps the belt from slipping .
