Hey folks, I used to work at City Scooters in Chicago and ended up quitting after repeatedly told to do unsafe work/set up bikes incorrectly. They are a shop and dealer and a lot of the new bikes they assemble are done incorrectly. The reason I quit is we had an older man come in to buy a trike scooter. It was his first time on any type of scooter, motorcycle, anything. When assembling the scooter new out of the box, i noticed the front tire had a bubble in it, rather than replace it, the manager aired it down until the bubble went away, against my protests. After that, the rear axle brake rotor was bent and rather than get it replaced, the manager took a hammer to it and "fixed" it which introduced a really bad wobble. He then sold it to the customer like that. I quit that day.
I have worked for Scooterworks Chicago and they are a fantastic local shop that I recommend and know is safe! They care about their customers, City scooters only cares about making a quick buck.
