Hello,
Recently my yamaha zuma 2009 started to hesitate after hitting 35 mph. Just last week I was hitting 40-42 no problem, but even when going downhill it almost feels like it pulls back or wants to slow down and will go back to 35. Was wondering if anyone could have an idea of what it might be, I read somewhere it might be the belt but besides that I'm not sure.

There's really only one way of solving your problem and that's to carry out a full service and inspection of your scoot to check all is as it should be.use the directory button( left on this screen) to learn how.shooting from the hip and guessing what the problem is can put you in a costly tail spin. What are the last changes you have done on the scoot ? Since it was doing 42 mph You may need to retrace your steps ?

A worn belt could drop your speed down. Like said above, give it some love. Full CVT service inspection how to here.

Nothing at all really, i asked a friend and he said it might've been the fact that i got caught in the rain and my pulley might've rusted but we took apart the crankcase and everything was fine and we re-greased it.

Honestly, the belt looked fine when we opened it up, I'm suspecting it might be the sheave, since its on the side of the transmission that handles the higher rpm, it looked worn down and I'm assuming its supposed to have more pronounced teeth or bumps because it looked almost flat but not completely. I'll watch the video but that's my current idea of what it might be. (edit) I watched the video and looked up the parts and i think it'll be the washer that goes with the fan since that's the part that has teeth, i'm gonna buy it and see if that was the problem, thanks for the help!
