'22 Genuine Roughhouse 50 4000 miles Malossi Sport 50 kit Prima Sport pipe Trailtech Vapor Polini CP 17.5 *New Parts* Malossi Multivar (been trying 7s, 8s, 9s) Stage 6 Torque Control Clutch -Polini +40% medium contra Stage 6 Clutch Bell 460 Naraku Torque Driver and ball bearing spring seat
I've always had an issue with my front pulley not reaching full diameter. I tried the Sharpie trick soon after I bought the bike and noticed it was bad from the start . So after breaking/fixing a dozen other things, I am finally to the CVT. The new parts are in; the new clutch and variator seem to work great until about 30mph. Then I'm lucky if I can squeeze out another 2-3mph at round 8500 rpms.
I've tried heavier rollers without any improvement. Aside from shimming the boss (which would send me in the other direction, correct?) or trying a softer spring, could this be a belt fitment issue? My troubleshooting and tuning skills are limited.

Run a softer contra spring as long as the belt doesn’t slip it will cut down wear and tear on cvt i run 6 to 6.5 grams with a soft contra with a malossi and sport pipe When you run the ball bearing seat you are actually preloading the spring so it is a notch stiffer
With a medium contra 7 grams is what I would use . Stiffer contras require heavier weights to overcome to get the same shift points
8500-9200 rpm’s is about where that pipe peaks in combo with that cylinder . What rpm does it jump to when you hit the throttle wide open ? 8000-8500 worked best for me
So you may be able to pick up some rpms with lighter weights I did have to shim the variator boss to get both the most top end and take off .
What is the length of the stock boss compared to the malossi boss ?

I have a couple of soft springs on the way, including a slightly longer belt (738-18-30 -> 750-18-30).
Sounds good on the roller weights. I'm running 9g+10g and flat WOT it is sitting around 8500 rpm 33-35mph. It's odd, going downhill at half throttle the rpms will easily slide up to 9000-9500 while still pretty much coasting at 35.
I shimmed the back side / push plate and was able to touch the bottom of the mark on the vari. That's what got me from 30 back up to 35 top speed. Still lots of room left on both pulleys though.
The stock boss and the Malossi one are the same length.
