Pretty much what the title said,
Just bought me a scooter yesterday... '97 MBK NitroJag, with the correct papers and frame It's been around 20 years since i wrenched on these things, and it's in rough condition. Half the bodywork is correct, the other half is spray painted, and not in a decent way. It came as a non-runner, and from what i could see, it's going to take a rebuild of the upper engine, depending on what i find i might rebuild the bottom crank too... It seems to have a 70cc cilinder, and a funny looking Hebo exhaust (funny, as they cut the flange off and rewelded it under an incorrect angle...) Anyways, i'll have my work on this thing, but that's pretty much why i bought it. If i still know how these things work, i'll find out in the future. Since i'm from Belgium, and these things require license plates now and are regulated for 45km/h max, so it probably won't be an insane build. Grtz, timmer

Welcome to the forum. That's a real shame about the bodywork. The jaguar scheme is a looker. I would probably change the crank unless it looks excellent. These are not going bikes anymore. Please start a build thread. 👍

Thx aeroxbud . I've been looking around on and off for like 1.5years, spotted an ad yesterday and had the scooter on my trailer in about 3hrs after the ad was spotted by me (and it was around a 1hr drive). It was a MBK nitro Jaguar, with the papers mentioning it's a "5BR NITROBJAG", so i wanted it (tbh, the rossi, Mclaren or Jaguar ones don't pop up a lot, or like never. Or sometimes you find one, but then it's just the bodywork put on a standard one) I didn't know what i really wanted, i just wanted something to pass time with as a project. I've had a Booster Spirit (like back in 2001 i think?) and wrenched on pretty much all my mates scooters (BW's, Aerox's , Runners and speedfights mostly). I don't have a lot of space to start tinkering on it, but i might post some pics when it finally stops raining. And then i'll empty the shed and start building, but i think that'll be for around March, and it's gonna be a looooooong road to finish it. Let's see if i can start a thread somewhere.
