I need thoughts on variator kits witch is best I have a 08 bugeye with a malossi BBK Leo Vance pipe delhorto carb with a 85 jet I think can't remember what I ended up with but it's either a 85 or 90. But I've got her up to almost 55 on flat ground she crusies at 50 most of the time. anyway I can't decide witch variator to get the current cvt setup is mostly stock minus the roller weights witch are 6.5g. At the moment I'm not looking to spend $500 on a overrange kit just some clutch and contra springs, and a variator and weights, and belt hope to stay under $200 so my wife doesn't flip out about spending money on toys. Lol !!!WOMEN!!! I'll never understand them.

I like the Malossi Multivar for a sports variator. Though the Polini Hi speed is okay as well. You won't gain much speed with a variator. But it will work much better at holding the revs constantly than the stock one.

I agree with Malossi and Polini variators. www.scootertuning.ca/en/79-variatorsI'd go with slider weights because they are more resilient. They may offer a performance benefit, but they always last longer for me and that's good in the long run. You can save a little money there by stuffing them with aluminum foil to increase their weight instead of buying a bunch of sets of weights to tune. You may still need more than one set, but most of the time you can get at least a gram into a slider. If you buy say 5g and 7g (just an example, go with what you think you need), then you should be able to do at least a range of 5-8g between stuffing and mixing weights. You will need a small scale though, so you can stuff them accurately and evenly. Lots of options on amazon if you don't have one.

I've got to replace it anyway the stock one has half the teeth missing and she accelerates great from 0 to 20 but form 20 to 30 it is super sluggish then the 30 to 50 is great. And I believe that my contra spring is worn out. It takes forever to come back down so I slow down to much I'm stuck I'm the sluggish range I've tried lighter rollers but it still won't keep the rpms where I need them. Also the previous owner has the wrong belt installed so im not getting full range of my variator. So I am probably going to just by the polini kit it's got everything but the drive face. However I have herd that I'll have to delete the starter clutch in order to make it fit. Is that true if so I'll go ahead and get the malossi and just buy the belt separately. Cause the kick start shaft is stripped when I got this poor zuma it had vice grips clamped down on the kick-start shaft and the tips had been jb welded together. But I only paid a bill for her and I ve been rebuilding her for almost 18 months now. The cvt is the only thing I haven't really messed with mechanically. I'd like to see about 60 out of her but I'll settle for constant acceleration at any speed at the moment. Last question for the moment is there anyone on here that's Stretched one of these and has blueprints or a shop somewhere that's got the kits in stock in stock. Thanks for your help and time.

I don't think you need to lose the electric start on the hi speed kit Brent linked to. I think you are thinking of the hi speed evo variator kit. I did notice on my bike fitting the evo slider that came with a Polini spring. The torque spring wouldn't open fully. So something to check if you go for that kit.
