no its not made in the usa tomos built a wearhouse of there own in sc unlike the add says they are still imported right to the wearhouse
In 2000, TOMOS USA was started in Greenville, South Carolina. The new office and warehouse complex is over 24,000 sq. ft. It was the first time that the factory from Europe took over operations in the USA from American distributors. This decision was made to streamline operations and for the factory to get a better feel for the North American market.
unlike others where said brand usa is just a us company that imports it tomos imports to themself

www.heeters.com/mopeds.shtmlyou can see in this dealers add that it is made in europe and that tomos is the largets exporter to the usa for true mopeds (and i think they are the only ones that still bring a true moped into the us) and he way over paid for the bike there is no way the 70 kit and biturbo cost a grand

You never know what someone will pay if they don't know better or do the research before they buy. I way over paid for my Baron in '05, with the thinking that the higher cost was because of a higher quality...boy was that way off,LOL. Bought from their warehouse too, no middle man, parts availability and service I thought, wrong. The Roadrunner I went with a close enough shipper that had the style I wanted, and the best price with shipping. By then I also knew I was doing the repairs and parts finding myself.

I think about half of the people that buy Benelli scooters think they were built in Italy.

I have learned that sellers don't like to be corrected when they don't know anything. I once informed a non profit group that sells donated vehicles that the Chinese retro scooter with 2000 miles on it wasn't worth $3000 , even pointed out links to new ones at $800. They replied that they had a profesional price their products and were standing by the starting price.

LOL, I see what you mean It's a great organization. Back in the day they were a lot of help for boys i knew that had there share of problems. Just too bad they were not willing to even look into it. Heck, maybe they did later. I took them off my search shortcut.
