Quick question on making the swap to premix:
All I did was remove the auto-lube device (oil pump), oil reservoir, and cap the port on the carb that previously took the oil feed. Anything else I'm missing or is it just that simple?
I have a yamaha vino 2t, 70cc bbk, yasuni exhaust (derestricted), 21mm dellorto PHBG carb, polini cone air filter, and a race CDI (13-14k rpm)
Why the switch? The oil pump is non cable/non adjustable - it runs directly in relation to rpm so i can't increase the oil output. Didn't have any issues on my old 70 bbk but the new one had a soft seize (suspected) at WOT recently. Probs not broken in enough either, but concerning because it was a very short time at WOT. Temps are too high as well IMO even at mid throttle (350F) I'm up-jetting substantially, but want to be sure lack of oil isn't part of the problem. Planning on running a 40:1 mix.
Just looking for a warm fuzzy before I continue tuning the carb. Don't want to end up soft seizing again because I forgot some important step when doing the change to premix.
Any input appreciated.

That is all you need to do. 350 is definitely the upper end of what you want to see WOT. Should be stable at wot and not creep up. 40:1 is good I run 48:1 using a very HQ oil.

It was more likely running too lean that caused the seize, than the oil mixture. The fuel is what cools the cylinder. Just remember that the more oil you put in. The leaner the jetting will be. So adjust accordingly.

I have run the stock oil injection on several scoots from a little less to a little more hopped up than yours & never had a problem. Soft seizing is your jetting. Pod filters really aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. They make jetting more difficult & are loud for no reason. They have there place but on a daily driver run an air box if you can. I have a 70cc vino in the garage & it still has the oil injection. No issues at all once you get the carb dialed in.

seizing is from bad jetting /or an air leak that developed from the install of the new bbk kit
extra oil actually can make you more likely to seize since it makes you leaner .
I don't have any race builds all my under 11,000 rpm builds I just ran stock oil injection .
I would check for air leaks at the head gasket base gasket and where the pipe bolts to the cylinder .
You might be able to see the some oily residue that will tip you off .
To check the exhaust for leaks with the scooter running take a wet rag and plug the exhaust if it kills immediately your exhaust is sealed up if it keeps running you have an exhaust leak .
