Hi all. I’m new to the forum and I’m looking for a bit of advice. I’ve managed to acquire a lovely 1981 Di Blasi folding bike. It’s been in its original bag since 1984 so it nearly as new and has only covered 62 miles. I have an issue where I’m getting no spark. I’m Electrician by trade so have all the test equipment needed to carry out any fault finding. I’ve measured the secondary side of the ignition coil and it seems to be open circuit so that’s the first place to start. The OE part is quite expensive so I just tried a generic one from eBay just for now and I’m still getting no spark with that. It may be that the one I bought just isn’t compatible with the ignition coil on the magneto plate. Does anybody have any specs on what the resistance of the ignition coil on the magneto should be? Also it looks like the flywheel is internally threaded. What’s the procedure for taking that off? Does it unscrew or is it on a tapered shaft and needs removing with a puller. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks Andy.
