I had to replace the ignition after a buddy of mine lost the key so I didn't have the money to buy Yamaha ignition so I tried to install a GY6 ignition to come off one of my other bikes I think I got it wired right but I'm still not getting any spark the ignition was the only problem when it stopped running I just need a little help with the colors and stuff so I can figure it out it's also selling check engine codes I don't know what the code is yet I haven't really took the time to count how many things or whatever any help will be awesome thank you

your best bet is to hot wire it by crossing the wires or putting a wire between the contacts on the connector and see ifyou get power that way. You most likely have it wired wrong.

The CDI is enabled by default. The ignition switch when in ON opens the 'kill wire' and allows the CDI to work. Follow the wires to the CDI box, and connect the wires so the CDI wire is not grounded(connected to ground) by the ignition switch in ON position. There may be a plastic connector with a jumper wire under all the stuff. Later models have that (Taotao only?) to allow ready connection of an alarm/anti-theft/kill/remote start... If you remove the jumper, the CDI ground is also disconnected. tom
