When I bought my 2006 taotao vip 49cc scooter the wire harness and handle bar switchs plug connectors have been cut so I have had to figure out which wire goes were. I have the start button workin, the turnsignals, brake light, I just have 5 wires left from the right handle bar switch and harness left to figure out which wire goes were. I need to get my head lights and taillights working and have from the switch:black with red line, green with white line, two yellow wires turned into one white wire, brown, and a dark green one. And from the harness there is black, red, purple, pink, and baby blue. If someone can please help me

For figuring out what does what in the controls, the first thing is to look at where wires go. A lot of times you can tell which switch wires go to by looking inside when the controls are off of the bike. I also use continuity checks with a multimeter so I can figure out functions of switches or where wires go. Trace wires in the harness and see where they lead. Red is usually power, and black is often ground. Baby blue is usually one side of the turn signals or I've seen it used in headlight wiring. IIRC the brake light circuit used purple in my TaoTao. I don't have a diagram for the VIP, but here's one for another TaoTao scooter in case it's of any use : www.49ccscoot.com/pics/Wiring%20Diagrams/2017_TaoTao_Thunder_Diagram.jpg

As mentioned above your best bet is continuity testing combined with tracing the wires from the different accessories such as the signals, head lights, etc. If you have a "power probe" you can put 12v power thru any wire and see what it activates (if anything) and that makes it easier as well
