So I got a bug with a stuck piston. Looks like they forgot to put oil in the tank. Piston and cylinder scarred pretty good. Scoot has 26k on odometer. Since oem parts are all discontinued it looks like I have to buy a 70cc kit. I like the corsa kit. Is there a reason not to buy the corsair race kit? Would the stock crank hold up with 26k on it? My guess is no. So from what I researched I need the following. Head, cylinder. Piston, wrist pin, clips, gaskets, 19mm carb, variator, clutch and springs, pipe, probably crank. Then run it premix? Any input would be great. Anyway to do this for 600, I'm guessing no as well.

The Corsa is a mid race kit you will need a much bigger budget , To get the supporting parts needed so it runs best (crank, carb ,cvt ,pipe, temp gauge ) To be in the 600 dollar range a milder kit pipe combo so you can run stock carb kit malossi or polini sport ,top performance trophy , stage 6 cast iron 70cc kit 150-200 bucks pipe Street pipe Malossi wild lion ,tecnigas silent pro ,stage 6 street 130-160 bucks Variator malossi or polini clutch springs and variator weights new belt 150-200 bucks Cylinder head temp gauge trail tech 100 bucks You have more power from the pipe and kit ,higher gear ratio and better shifting from variator and spring upgrades and to protect your hard work a cylinder head temp gauge . You probably need some mikuni jets in the 85-90 range here are some packages just need to add the temp gauge www.scootertuning.ca/en/299-engine-package

If you wanted to test, I'd just buy a cheapo chinese kit for $50 and see if it runs. 1e40qmb is the general search to find generic parts that usually fit. I got 500 miles on this one before blowing it (probably from being cheap and maybe running a bad oil mix for 2 tanks) china 70cc kit If it's running okay then maybe consider putting good parts on the motor without tearing apart the cases. Or you can use a cheap boroscope camera to look into the crank and case with the piston/cylinder off.

that cheapo kit might not fit the zuma. i can't remember the sizes of the wrist pins. basically you just need a 1e40qmb kit that has the same wrist pin size.

You don't have to buy a 70cc kit. You can get a standard replacement type cylinder if you want. I really wouldn't run more than a sports build on something with that high mileage if you want it reliable.

Just replace the crank, get a 70cc sport kit, & a street pipe. You got it so cheap you won’t be that much in it after. It’ll also ride so much better than it does as a 50.

I'd pull the cylinder and piston off to see if the crank turns and check the side to side play of the connecting rod. I have a good 50cc cylinder and piston you can have if you want to see how it runs and surmise the condition of the bottom end. Then maybe you can make a better decision about what to do next. $100 is a great deal I paid $300 for a non running '03 that just needed the carb cleaned out.
