Hey fellow 50cc riders, I'm looking to upgrade my 2008 Zuma (Fully Stock) with the Polini Sport Package and I was just wondering your recommendations... Link: www.scootertuning.ca/en/engine-package-sport/80008-engine-package-polini-sport-70cc-1000000005056.htmlQuestions: 1) Will I need to upgrade the torque spring that comes with the kit? 2) Will the pipe limit the overall performance? 3) Will I need to cut any restrictions out to get peak performance from the cylinder? ( I know some of the jogs need that) 4) Will i need to start to use Pre-Mix? 5) Can I still rely on e-start? 6) Is this really a good option for a build? (Looking for reliability) Also any other recommendations are very appreciated, Possibly considering clutch springs. Thanks for everyone's time! P.s This is my first time posting here so i hope i posted in the right spot.

1) No, you can leave it as is. 2) Yes and no. You can leave the stock pipe just fine. It will pull very strong from a stand still with that combo. An aftermarket pipe give more power but the trade-off is you need to tune the bike to unlock its potential and prevent engine damage. 3) A fully stock bike has a restricted pipe. A little funnel shaped piece is spot welded in the headpipe. You can wiggle it out with a screwdriver. The bike can breathe better that way so you have to up the main jet. 4) No, instead use high quality 100% synthetic injector-type oil. Motul 710 is an excellent oil. 5) Yes 6) Yes. If you maintain it well and keep using quality oil the engine will last for thousands of miles.
You won't need stiffer clutch springs

If you haven’t already ordered I would buy the components separately and install them one at a time. Doesn’t seem like you’re getting any break, and you will get a good read at what mod does what. I’ve always used Malossi but have an itch to try the Polini 70cc kit at some point.

Good to know pili, A few more bundles just came available and now i am defiantly switching the one im buying. Im stuck between buying the Polini package and the Malossi Package. The new packages also feature the Yasuni R so i will probably also go with those because ive heard more then the other stock looking pipe. I was also curious about the Athena kit but i heard aluminum isnt as reliable. If you have any advice on these packages I am open to opinions. Im probably going to look into this one. I really like the Yasuni R. It has a broad spread of power for a sports pipe. And will give You a higher top speed. You will need stiffer clutch springs than a stock pipe type setup.

What do you intend to use it for? I commute on mine daily and it’s hard to beat cast iron for dependability. A small thing also is the sound. With aluminum you tend to hear the combustion process a bit more. There are others with way more experience with this but the first cylinder I used was an aluminum Athena, and the first time I fired it up with the Malossi cast iron, I heard the difference.

More so commuting around town but I definitely want to be able to get the front wheel up from time to time as well as some better top speeds.

Malossi Sport or maybe even MHR Replica kit paired with the Yasuni R with some stronger clutch springs should get the front end up with a slight tug and give you quite a bit more top speed.

You can wheelie with the malossi cast and yasuni r I wheelie with a malossi cast and a street pipe .
dial in the cvt to match the power band light contra 5 to 5.5 gram weights in a malossi variator and stiff clutch springs and you can wheelie easy enough .
