Whatever the fancy name they give 'm, somehow i'm seeing a lot of ads about these things recently (That's what you get from searching for parts i guess). I've seen generic stuff, even Malossi Boost Bottle and Polini Gas recovery chamber. I just wanna know, do these things work on 2Strokes? I remember like 20years ago these things existed already, but i've never used one. Nor did anyone i know of. So if someone could shine some light on this topic, and not just 'No, they don't' or 'F*** yeah they do', that'd be great

From my experience; they work quite well with piston port 2Ts. They can give a noticeable increase there on the less efficient engines. I made my own for 49cc pocket bikes, as did friends. For scoot stuff, with case reed induction, they haven't done anything for me really. I played around with them for a bit, thinking maybe they helped to even out the tune with weather at least, but eventually realized I was wasting my time. If you have an intake port to spare, you can try them quite easily. One member here used to find small pill bottles that were in the ballpark of cc and add a barb for a super quick boost bottle setup. None of these do anything fancy like expand and contract as some accordion style bottles will, but I think regardless of the bottle you are likely not going to find much if you do actual testing. www.49ccscoot.com/boost.html

I have a used intake and it's pretty beat up, so i'm going to buy a new one anyways for the Nitro. Might give it a shot. First need to get the scooter build, then i'll tweak around with it

Yes I looked into it when it was all the rage in the 90's. Like Brent said, it works with the earlier designed engines from the 70's and 80's. But not really on reed valve induction. Unless it's just for show.

Given the amount of ads i’ve seen, i’d say the manufacturers want us to believe otherwise (then again, they’ll tell us pigs can fly and politicians are honest people as long as we’ll buy their crapitems) Thanks for the replies guys, that’s a €40 i won’t spend

It is kind of sad if boost bottles are getting pushed for your scoot, but I guess the profit margin is good or they're trying to get rid of them. So many other parts that work without a doubt, but people love the idea of easy speed/power and if you have a spare vacuum port a boost bottle is about as easy as an install gets.
Reminds me of J&J Powersports/Jeremy Vinup. He's the 4T equivalent of a boost bottle salesman to me. Sells Chinese parts that he's named things like "Superflow carb" and has made some wild claims of speed with their CDIs. Everything at jacked up prices, but with YouTube infomercial type sales pitches. Not even sure if they're still in business, but this stuff annoys me.

Never tested them. Never seen them on high-end 2T's. Never seen them on anything OEM that is of any interest. Unconsciously never paid attention to them (probably for a reason). I am fairly certain I never missed out on anything regarding boost bottles (or 'Powerbox' as how they are called in Holland). Not sure what it would do on my 50's piston port DKW, but I am not really seeing why I should want to try it. It does look cool on a fully tricked out scoot tho! And I am sure you can make the all the kids believe it does something for performance.
