Hi, GY6 50cc: I'm thinking of replacing my starter clutch bushing. The one that sits in the variator cover. Meaning the one that the Bendex sits in. What is the best way? Heating it, or how do I get it out. I do not want to drill it out. Photo is lent from another forum post, hope that is OK. Thanks.

Is the Bendix bushing severely damaged? -Otherwise there is not much reason to replace it. It only restrains the Bendix shaft from excessive deflection during operation. The fit is not critical.
To remove it use a wooden dowel sized or reduced in diameter to fit inside the bushing. Pack the bushing hole with grease. Insert the dowel inside the bushing a little way and cover the area with a rag. Strike the end of the dowel with a mallet or hammer. The resulting pressure spike in the grease will push the bushing out and splash grease everywhere, -hence the need for the rag to contain the splash. Don't hit it too hard to avoid damaging the cover.

I've done the grease blast with success. Had a set of steel hole position marker punches in multiple sizes that worked nicely. Tight fitting drill bits used upside down can also work if you don't mind damaging or potentially shattering the drill bit. A block of wood against the bit edge may help. The heat/cool method can help as well, get the surrounding case area heated more than the bushing.
Problem you'll will run into is that these bushings will crush slightly when pressed in and the ID becomes smaller. A precision reamer may be required to get back to your desired ID fitment.
