Just bought a 1995 Honda elite with the 125cc engine. Seller said clutch is loose. Found clutch is fine and engaged with the bell, but the rear wheel is not spinning at all. Dont even spin at idle? Anyone have any good guess before I open up the transmission? Hopefully is a simple fix. Thanks in advance YouTube video attached youtu.be/ulZtA0TzHGk?si=HLyh9HHqJv9DATMS

The variator and rear pulley looks to be working fine. So if the Clutch is engaging with the Clutch bell. It must be something in the transmission. Does the rear wheel spin when running and wheel off the ground?

Wheel not spinning at all when off the ground not at idle. Gus I’ll open up the transmission and see what I’ll find 🤞

Before tearing into the trans, you might check that the rear brake isn't locked up or the wheel bearings aren't seized

Found my answer: How can this gear(attached to the bell) be eaten up with only less than 200 miles on it, unless it’s a bad batch. All the parts are from BWSP/ JISO

Question: does it look like this transmission do not have adaquate amount of oil? Because when I open up the case, not a single drop of oil came out. thanks Guess I found the answer, something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDltkrTbZvAI hope the seller/builder do the right thing and refund some $$ to the seller I bought it from. He bought it for $2k+ and the seller/builder didn't put any transmission oil in it. I was guessing the scooter have <200 miles on, well now I think it got less <50 miles on it.

Yes that's pretty bad. A costly mistake.

It's a little long, but it go! So I bought a big bore 125cc Honda Elite from seller A which he bought it from seller B for $2K+ I think. Seller A didn't get to ride much before the clutch is loose/bad. Seller A contact seller B and seller B said it's an easy fix but didn't help him out to fix it (20min away). Seller A not handy at all, so he sold it to me. Upon inspection, found that the newly build 125CC have no oil (not a single drop) in the transmission which chewed up the primary gears. I contact seller B and told him what I found, he seem to try to make excuse and saying it can't be and strange that happen. I did told him to do the right thing by suggestion him to give some refund some $$$ back to seller A (not really my concern) but I did anyway. Since I've not got all the paperwork from seller A yet, I start to look around. I found that the VIN is SAW-OFF!!! This is getting more sketchy. The only way I could be saved here, is waiting for seller A to give me all the paperwork but with VIN SAW-OFF hmmm.

The only reason to get rid of the vin is to hide it's identity. Looks very suspicious.

It get stranger....Well just did some communication with Seller B, now he said it's not his bike/engine. Because I send him the engine photos and said it's a total different motor. Strange a few days ago he said yes, now he said no. IDK, maybe it's not his, I really don't know!!! now.

In my opinion, the operator is ultimately responsible for "pre-ride checks" Of course, if someone gets an oil change or tuneup, there is a presumption that the place put stuff together properly. Still, when I buy something, especially used, it will sit until I get time to go over the basics.

Yes I always change all the fluids and filters on a used bike too. They so often are neglected.
