Im looking to buy some goodies for my 08 bugeye and wanted some opinions on exhaust. I'm ordering a 19mm Dellorto Race carb to go with my 70cc Athena sport aluminum BBK. I have the stock 10mm crank so I think I should error on the side of lower rpm which originally led me to the half-wave series of exhaust like the Malossi Wild Lion, the Tecnigas Silent Pro, and the Polini Hi Speed. However, I found that most of those are getting pretty hard to find in the US. Since it seemed to be out of stock, I then leaned towards the Tecnigas Next R which seemed to get decent reviews at the price point. Sounds good in the clips Ive watched, but I worry about full expansion chamber units being too loud. Anywho, i went to order the Next R and I come to see that they DO have the Tecnigas Silent Pro in stock now and it seems like a bargain at $136. Based on the plot below (sourced from one of Zino's posts) it looks like the Silent pro has the highest peak power and it tends to be at a lower RPM than say the Stage6 Street. Seems like this would be ideal for my build. So, what says the masses? Technigas Silent Pro or the Technigas Next R? Again, looking for reliable and streetable power in the 10k RPM and below area. Will upgrade clutch and variator (maybe gears if i'm feeling crazy) after getting the carb and exhaust dialed in.

I like the silent pro pipe. It makes good bottom end power. The stage 6 has more power up top, and a higher top speed. But is noisier. There is probably not a lot of difference in performance between the next R and stage 6 street. The next R is quite a mild exhaust with a good spread of power. Any of these pipes will be running out of puff before 10k.

So what's your vote? I'll be coming from a stock 08 pipe with a catalytic converter so I think just about anything will be an improvement for me, but I dont want to iterate.

The wild lion is pretty much impossible to find unless I order it out of Europe and pay a bunch of shipping. Noise doesn't bother me (my street bike is quite loud) but my wife may ride this and she won't be a fan of the loud exhaust. The Yasuni R is $50 more than the Next R. What does that get me?

In my experience, about five miles an hour more top speed. And quite a bit more power. The only downside with the Yasuni is they rust terribly if using in harsh conditions.

Scooter swap shop has the Polini exhaust that is a rebranded wild lion in stock for $155. I have one on my vino. If you’re wanting to keep it quiet for the wife & gain some performance it’s an awesome pipe. The yasuni r is probably one of if not the best sport exhaust out there. It has a wide power band that a bunch of the others don’t so it pairs well with entry 70’s through mid race kits.

Alright, you make a compelling case. I'll probably end up going with the Yasuni R then...
Any ideas what main jet I might need? Seems like im kind of in the edge of the stage 6 kit (72-92) and the Polini kit (80-89). Ive seen some people claim they run 82 to 92 mains, but then Ive seen much higher as well. I run an 85 in my stock carb with stock intake (no snorkel) and stock 08 exhaust along with an Athena sport aluminum BBK. It's running pretty rich (runs cool and my intake ends up wet with fuel) but I'm not going to tune a carb i plan to replace. Im at about 900' above sea level here.

I think I was at 88 or 90 in my 17.5 dell with a stage 6 street race & yasuni r.
