Hi All, I just installed a Malosi BBK,Variator (7g rollers and white contra) as well as a Yasuni R pipe. Day one after doing heat cycles: the moped was cruising very fast and accelerated good. Now 2 weeks later its starting to feel a little sluggish and the rpm at full throttle are about 300 lower which means I'm not really at power band anymore. Is this just the belt? do I need to put on lighter rollers? I am going to re-tighten and check for air leaks tomorrow. All info helps. thanks.

I’m guessing if the variator was working well before it’s good. Did you check for an exhaust leak? Maybe check torque on the head nuts too. Spark plug look normal? If anything it should run better as it breaks in.

Those are really heavy weights for a white contra try 5.5 grams to 6 grams The Yasmin r paired with a malossi should be peaking at high 9000 rpm’s to low 10,s I had my variator weights set to jump to and hold in the low 9s when I hit the throttle wide open and then it would drift up to around 10 k rpm’s
Just like pili said it should get a notch better after a couple tanks of gas

All the dyno graphs I've seen of the Yasuni R it starts to make peak power between 9-9,500 RPM. That sounds more like what I would expect from the Yasuni Z.

I ran the original crank past 10,500 rpm’s at its peak with a Yasuni and Athena build
10,000 rpm’s is just a guideline for stock crank The yasuni has a pretty wide power band you can set the weights so you peak high 9,s and get better on off throttle response
