Hello guys, I recently picked up a Yamaha Jog 96' and wanted to register it to 25 km/h with a rpm restrictor with a switch and wanted to know some general info if any of yall dealt with it. I heard that It can fry your stator and some other things, mostly wanted to use it for the registration purpose for about like 5 mins on the speed wheel so they see that scooter actually goes 25. Thanks for any responds.

They don't really work well because scooters run a CVT system. You can have high speed at low revs. Low speed at high revs. The only way to do it right is to restrict the gearing. That's why lots of manufacturers put the restriction ring in to stop the variator closing. You can download fitting instructions from Pedparts. www.pedparts.co.uk/product/609/dmp-rev-limiter-restrictor-kit
