So I'm looking to buy a Derbi Wave and the owners states engine number 0.0G.018.0.454.1, so is this the Spanish version? Thanks so much, cweklund

Derbi is a Spanish company owned by Piaggio. So it will have a Piaggio based engine.
I believe it's also called the Atlantis in the U.S.

OK let me try again, I was wanting to know if the 2000 Atlantis has the derbi motor or the Piaggio based motor? I was reading that the Piaggio motor was way better, and that someone who knew about these would know which motor is in the one I'm looking at buying by the engine number I listed, sorry for any confusion. I gotta find out about this before I buy, Thank you for responding, I definitely appreciate it. cweklund

In Europe before 2002, the Atlantis had a Morini engine. After June 2002 it had the Piaggio Hi-PER-1 engine.
Derbi doesn't make engines. And yes the Piaggio engine is much better if you want performance parts.
