So the scooter is very old, no parts available and the regulator decides to short out. Got another 4 wire from a gy6 they say. Wired up but no dc out. The scooter has 13v ac idle on a yellow wire to the frame/black, black and red is power to consumers and another brown no idea what is for. Please help me get this thing on the road for my uncle. Thank you.

The scooter has all power on dc i think(horn and rear lights at least), so this relay i got does not output enough to power that, and does not work without a battery, the output is too low 5-6v. The ac is regulated by pulling ac to ground about 18v in 13.5v out. The regulation is half bridge also. I think i need a different regulator that works without a battery and has enough power on dc for all system.

What kind of scoot is it? Any wiring diagrams to be had? Lots of those 4 prong regs are wired differently..

It is a malaguti dribbling 2 49cc i think from 1992, im helping my uncle with it. The engine runs without the regulator, magneto has 3 wires coming out, one yellow. Put the black regulator but all consumers i connected to regulated ac. The old reg had flasher built in, the brown wire was signal lights. Red was rear light and horn, this is ac i think. The horn do not work on dc. The yellow is connected to headlight, and to magneto coil. The black regulator does not output enough dc voltage without a battery, just 5-6v. Scooter has no battery. If i use another regulator, i need both ends of the magneto coil connected, because now one end is grounded. Am i correct? The lights flicker as the regulator pulls voltage to ground, and signal lights stay on, well they flicker like the rest of the lights. I have above 12v with some throttle all lights on.
