Hello, I've lurked around here for almost 12 years. I've had this TGB delivery express since 2011. I bought it from a little old lady around the corner. It only had 1600mi. I've managed to rack up over 14k using Amsoil, 93 octane, and premixing myself. But alas it's getting tired. Hardly reaches 35mph when it used to do 45.
Time to do a rebuild. I've settled on a cheap airsal 65cc aluminum kit and a 17.5 phva. With the goal of 55 tops and cruise at 40-45.
I am having major problems locating a crankshaft and variator. Not that I can't order them, but even though I am using a mild kit, I would like to upgrade to a trophy kit in the future and don't want to take my case apart again. I'm not sure the Naraku crank can handle a mild race kit. I can't even find a review or specs for that variator.
I've read almost every tgb build thread in the last few years. I still can't get the right parts together for some reason or another.
I'm super interested in building this rare bird up and holding on to it for awhile. Where I live anything under 100cc is a moped. So no insurance or plate fees. The trunk holds all my tools for work and then some. By far the best commuter I've ever had.
I would like to: 70cc Crankshaft Variator Clutch Carb Exhaust Rear disc brake conversion.
I have the kit, carburetor, and clutch. I could use some advice on the crankshaft, exhaust and variator. The disc brake conversion is all bolt on with factory TGB\Aprillia parts.

The top performance trophy kit has similar performance to a Polini and Malossi sport. So not a lot of difference between the two kits you are talking about to be honest. It's certainly not a mid race kit. Any good brand sports crank should be fine. If you really want the trophy kit. I would just buy that unless it's a big price difference.

I don't know TGB/Morini engines, but i had a Naraku crank in a Minarelli with sport setups and was happy with it. It seemed to be good quality. In the case of my Chinese Minarelli, better than stock. There's also a Top Racing crank. I do notice it has an oiling hole on the small end of the conrod, which I don't see on the Naraku. www.scootertuning.ca/en/crankshafts/2680000-crankshaft-top-racing-hq-morini-8715705032981.htmlThere doesn't appear to be a big market for TGB pipes, so it may come down to what you can get. I did notice on one site that when I filtered for a Delivery no exhausts were available, but they were listed under other models that I think have the same engine. Not sure if the rear section is different and won't clear some pipes or if it's just an error with listings or something else I'm missing.

The issue with exhaust as I understand right now is the Delivery/Express has dual rear shocks and an extra swingarm for this. I *think I can use an r50x exhaust because it hase rear disc and a big add on swingarm to support the caliper. I can probably use any TGB 50 exhaust I want with a torch and some bending.

Bone stock. 2004. It's an odd duck because it came wit a 14" front wheel and single headlight.

You might be able to make a pipe fit just by slotting the header pipe mounting holes. You could then just rotate the exhaust out a bit. I've done It to a pipe before. But I'm not sure how the TGB exhaust port is located. It might save heating the pipe and trying to bend it.
