Confused on what parts to buy for my 1986 Yamaha jog 3kj. I don’t want to buy the incorrect parts so someone please help me out. I’m confused if it’s a horizontal or vertical. Need help quick.

A 1986 should be a vertical engine. It's very easy to tell for sure. If the cylinder and spark plug are horizontal (aiming from the CVT area toward the front wheel) then it's a horizontal. If the cylinder and spark plug face upward, making the engine and CVT sort of L-shaped, then it's a vertical.
