Hello all, I’m currently attempting to ride a 49cc chinese scooter across the US so sometimes i run it for 2 hours straight. It wouldn’t spark like 5 days ago so I installed a new stator. I couldn’t get the stator connector apart so i just snipped it out and connected the wires together. in the process of pulling the flywheel off I bent it a bit cuz i didn’t have the right tool. with the new stator, it started 4 times but then wouldn’t start. then I replaced the cdi and it would start again. It started probably 30 times over the past 4 days but now it won’t start again. The battery tested 13.14V with the scooter off. I tested the stator and didn’t get any resistance or voltage from the exciter connector when the scooter was cranked. Not sure what to do. It seems the new stator might be overcharging and frying cdi’s? i haven’t gotten my new cdi in to try yet.
Also I ordered a new stator but the new one coming in is self grounded so it doesn’t have a green wire coming from the stator side. how do i wire this up? do I have to ground the green wire on the other side? I’m stuck in rapid city SD and really want to get back on the road so any help is greatly appreciated!

If your saying that the new stator does not have a ground output wire, chances are pretty good that it is a full wave stator that does not have a ground tied into the lighting coil. The full wave lighting coil setup gets tied into ground only in the RR. You have to verify that you have the appropriate stator for your system Photo's and some meter reading would help
