I am building a few Suzuki LT80 2 Stroke ATV's for the kids to ride the Oregon Sand Dunes. Building them to drag race and to climb big steep hills. The engines run great, but I am running into trouble with the clutches.
The clutches have 2 out of 6 rollers removed and the rear shoes trimmed 40 grams each for a harder hole shot. These clutches have slipper drums. One of them ended up slipping the slipper drum and the friction discs ate into the drum and the hub limiter.
They seem to lose power when climbing a sand dune, acting like they are stuck in too high of a gear. I presume the factory stock torque spring is not providing enough pressure to change the ratio and bring it back into lower gear when climbing.
The problem is I cannot find any aftermarket performance clutch parts specifically for the LT80. I have blindly ordered springs that do not fit.
I anticipate that I will be able to find someone on this forum who will be able to point me in the right direction for aftermarket performance clutch parts that may fit the LT80 (with or without some modification).
The factory torque spring measures approximately 45.5mm ID x 53mm OD x 99mm Length. I would like to get a few heavier ones 1500 or 2000 rpm.
I would like to find a solid 120mm drum.
The factory rollers are 16mm OD and 14mm Length. I can modify the weights of these easy enough.
Potentially a performance variator and pulleys, for over range, or even a whole kit.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

You probably shouldn't run just the 4 rollers. It leaves the variator unbalanced. You could run three evenly distributed. I couldn't find any performance parts for the CVT either. Try and make the most of what you have. Make sure the rollers do not have any flat spots. And the plastic guides are not worn. This site does do a slightly different gearing to help with sand. midwestmini.com/lt80_parts.htmShould be an easy way to improve acceleration.
