Good morning to all. I have a 2009 TMax with 13,000 miles. I am the second owner. I bought the bike when it had 6,500 miles on it. I have always changed the oil around 1,000 to 1,500 miles using Castrol GTX 20w50. This season I noticed my bike is slipping under acceleration. From 0 to 30 it slips. After that it seems normal. I changed the drive belt hoping to cure this problem. It did not. I have read about Automotive oils having additives in them that possibly contribute to clutch slipping. I switched to Yamalube 10W40 mineral oil. I did two changes at 50 miles. The clutch still slips. I guess my next step is to change the clutch friction disks and plates. It just seems like low mileage to have to do this. One person I talked to said switching to the Motorcycle oil will eventually help the clutch. Hoping to get some opinions from the group. Thank you in advance.

If you have used car oil in the wet clutch it will slip. Modern car oils are not suitable for motorcycles. They have special friction inhibitors which will wreck a clutch. I fear you might have to replace the friction plates of it wasn't slipping before the oil change. Brent did do a video of the clutch.
