Hello, my mechanical pump breaks every 2 months, I have a Malaguti F15 with a horizontal Minarelli engine. I put a new kit on it every time and it doesn't even last half a year, so I have decided to install this electric water pump. The issue is that I have read that the pump is DC and my alternator is AC (the lights only come on with the engine on). What suggestions do you have for me? I would like the water pump to turn on when the engine is started or at least when I turn the key on.
Thank you.

What is the problem you are having with the pumps? I've done well over 10,000 miles on different Aerox, and only had one seal failure. Brent has done some videos you might find interesting about installation of an electric pump.

I have no idea, but I buy a repair kit and they don't last a year. Once it lasted 7 months on its own. I use the motorcycle daily for work. Maybe it's because of the ignition cover and its entire assembly?
That video does not clarify my doubts about the electric water pump.

It is not normal for my water pump to fail so much. Could it be that the entire assembly (ignition cover) is twisted or has micro-holes and does not seal the gasket well? It's the only thing that's been around for almost 30 years (like the motorcycle), because it can't possibly last less than 1000km.

The thing is that I never lose water through the water pump, I lose water through the ignition cover, that is, it transfers to the magnetic flywheel. The water pump gasket has never failed.

That's where mine leaked from. It's the seal inside. Did you replace the two bearings and the seal?

Power the pump with a relay. Power from battery positive. Use the ignition switch as the trigger for the relay. Pump will come on whenever you turn the key on.

It should be fine. Most of us run them 100%.
