I recently picked up a non running spree for 100 bucks and im new to 2 strokes and cant for the life of me get it running. It has a new carb, new petcock, new fuel lines ,oil pump delete, new cdi, new spark plug, new spark plug wire and new reeds. I tested the engine compression and its good but when i kick it over all it does is shoot out white smoke I cant even get it running for a second. I just need advice on where to go next.

check for spark, make sure its getting gas that theres no leaks, in the air or the fuel. you did a compression check good. check if the exhaust is clogged up. the oil pump could have before it was deleted, leaked and filled it up with 2 stroke oil. and i didnt know spree motors had an oil pump delete. make sure its got the same motor your thinking on it, should be an engine code on the side of the gear cover under the cvt cover near the back. af-something.

Make sure you have fuel getting to the carb, take the fuel line off the carb, remove the vacuum line off carb, suck on the vacuum line and see if fuel comes out the fuel line from the petcock. If so remove plug and hold against frame while kicking over to check for spark. If you have spark, leave the vacuum line off the carb and reconnect fuel line. Suck on vacuum line until fuel makes it to the carb then kick over until it fires up and replace vacuum line to intake. If you have fuel and spark, remove the exhaust entirely and kick it over. Could be hydrolocked and you’ll see oil or gas coming out the exhaust port on the cylinder. If nothing comes out, make sure that exhaust is not plugged. Also check the electrical lines from the fuse (also check the fuse) down under the seat frame. Sometimes they melt inside the wiring loom tape (the green wire I believe) if someone has tried to jump it with a running car.

check for leaks around the crankshaft seals. see if you spot any oil residue behind the variator and stator to see if the crankshaft seals are still good.

Depending on how long it sat the crank case is probably full of oil from the oil tank. Common to old stroke that sat for a while. Look for either a drain or you may just have to find a way to either suck it out or pull the engine and intake and turn it upside down to let gravity get it out. Explains why it is not firing and just spitting while smoke. 3rd option is going to be the least fun, keep kicking or pull the cylinder and get it out with suction or pour it out that way.
Can probably guess the oil tank you removed was either empty or near empty. Every 2 stroke I ever bought that sat for a long time has always had a crank case full of oil.
