Always wanted a pre bug. Have had many bug eyes I usually pick up for 400 ish CAD. Finally have opportunity to buy a 2002 pre bug decent condition for $1500 CAD non negotiable( multiple buyers) only catch is it has 30 000 kms. Now, I can do the maintenance but my question is is it really worth it?

My old one had done over 6,000 miles more when I gave it to my son. They are a great bike. The parts are still readily available if it needs an engine rebuild. Which it could do. Like all old scooters, buy on condition for the price. The good thing being in Canada it should be in much better condition than what we see in the U.K. Only you can say if it's worth the money. But from what others have said, bikes in Canada seem to go for big money

Thanks I ended up not buying due to it looked like it had been dumped a dozen times. Of course from the pictures it looked okay… Wasn’t sure if there was anything else not visible besides engine to really worry about at 30k plus kms. I’m sure the gears will last as long as the oils been done. Fork seals would be leaking. Bearings are time consuming but inexpensive.
