Hello again, Recently got done throwing an Athena crank and cylinder kit on my 2000 SR50 LC, and now I'm looking for an exhaust. I'm in the US, so I'm everything here is (relatively) expensive. However, I found an name-brand exhaust that fits 1PE40QMB engines for €110 shipped from France to the US . The exhaust-manufacture has two different SKUs for the exhaust that specifically fits my bike vs the 1PE40QMB, but that exhaust is €220+ shipped here. So the most important question is, will 1PE40QMB exhausts fit genuine Minarelli engines?I already have that generic Chinese 1PE40QMB/JOG50 "performance exhaust" (picture #1), and to my surprise, it bolted up without any issues. On top of that, it did actually improve performance with lighter weights on the stock cylinder. But I'm not sure if the perfect fitment was just luck, or if the 1PE40QMB exhausts are just inherently interchangeable with genuine Minarelli horizontal engines. I'm a cheap azz, which is why this thread exists lol Bike before build with China exhaust:Bike now:

It "should" fit. Some aftermarket cylinders have a different angle on the exhaust flange, so it is a crap shoot..

The pipe and shipping were identical at €55, go figure On another note, is 'Carenzi' considered a "name brand" in the scooter world? Looks like a pretty similar design to the Yasuni R, but I'm not too familiar with what makes expansion chambers tick. Carenzi, model# 017275

It's the same company that make TNT parts. This looks like the slightly better, but still budget friendly range. Will be interesting to see how it performs, as it's a similar price to other budget exhausts.

TNT seems to have dialed down it's selection, or shifted its production away from 2T scoots based on what I've seen. The thing is, the cheapest exhaust on Scootertuning.ca is $200+ shipped, and stuff on eBay is $160+. Scooters just aren't popular or incentivized here like they are Europe, and the market for 2T scoot stuff here never really matured. Or maybe it just died off since the EPA forced it's heavy-hand a few years before the EU did. This exhaust almost looks like a clone of the Yasuni R, down to the cone count, cone shape, cone location, and observable dimensions. If it gets anywhere near that for less than half the price, it'll be a win in my book. Doesn't help I'm at 5000ft (2200m) of elevation, anything that eats petroleum gets a bad case of asthma here.

That pipe looks ok! This shop list some short info on it. www.rrd-preparation.com/en/complete-exhaust-systems-for-keeway-cpi-/14211-exhaust-carenzi-daemon-for-scooter-50cc-2times-tnt-grido-roma-12-cpi-euro-1-.htmlIt will do fine i am sure! And don't feel bad about high parts prices, new stuff is just as expensive over here! Inflation hits everywhere. But we have a huge huge huge 2nd hand market which is the consequence of a over 30 years of active 2t scoot scene in Western Europe.

I was looking at the pipe on RRD before purchasing, since they're the only ones who had additional self-captured photos of the exhaust. I was hoping they had pics of the EU restriction plate, but no such luck. The secondary 2T scoot market here is utter garbage. If you find something, it's usually 600 miles away, or ridiculously overpriced. On the other hand, you can basically find GY6 parts growing from your neighbor's tree, but those engines aren't really "tunable" like Minarelli/Piaggio engines are. Just a lame engine platform unless you go crazy with forced-induction.

Prices have really increased here in the U.K. A crank is nearly double what it was just a few years ago. Exhausts have gone up by at least £50. Second hand parts here are will overpriced. On eBay worn out parts are sometimes going for nearly the price of a new part. It's crazy to think I paid £85 for a Polini sport about ten years ago. And just over £100 for a Yasuni R. TNT still make quite a lot of stuff here. Their cranks and cylinders, and carbs are easy to get hold off.

When Americans order stuff from abroad, we aren't subject to any tax if the item is below $800(ish). Kinda crappy since this incentivizes people to purchase from non-US businesses, but I ain't gonna complain. But even with sales tax, my address is only 3% for domestic orders. The only issue with European to US order is the shipping. Most of the time shipping to the US is over 50 Euro for even small stuff. Brixiamoto has weirdly inexpensive shipping, sometimes under $15 for 1kg orders, and eBay Global sometimes has decent prices. So maybe I'm just being a naggy Nancy, but I'm still jealous of some of the cheaper parts y'all have access to... like sub $200 Stage6 Aluminum cylinders, and sub $100 full circle cranks.

Well, the seller cancelled the order about 4 days after purchasing. Becoming a theme with European sellers. However, I managed to find an SCR Corse competition exhaust for around $180 and got that instead. Haven't had much time to test as my driveway is pure mud, but it is definitely a happier setup. Wish I woulda known these comp exhausts do not fit with the center-stand fitted. Had to 3D print a stand while I wait for my side-stand to show up.

If it's a competition exhaust. The weight saving from losing the centre stand is an added bonus. Nice looking pipe. 👍

Nice looking pipe. 👍 I'm sure that weight savings is kinda ruined since I have to carry around a rebar/plastic side-stand wedged between the front panel and battery cover. Who knew that little peg below the seat on the right side was perfect to use as a detachable stand location.

I have just locked the steering and lent it against a wall before now. A disc lock stops it from rolling away. 👍
