My son ran his ped dry of oil, now it won't start. There's fuel and a decent spark at the plug, checked the bore and there's no scoring and compression is still up around 115 so I don't think it's piston related, I'm fairly savvy with 2 strokes but I'm running out of ideas with this one! Any idea on how to start this Chinese piece of junk?

if its a 2 stroke, if you ran the oil tank dry, you gotta bleed out the oil lines to get oil started in it again. as far as not starting, idk. unless the compression is actually just wrong when your reading it. shouldn't have been any problem if everything else is reading fine and it ran before.

Follow the no start guide here. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/647?page=1If it was running when the oil ran out. The piston is likely toast even if the bore is okay. Did you take the cylinder off to check? SYM are usually better quality than a lot of the Chinese scooters.
