Never ordered a bike before, curious to see how this turns out
It went 100% perfect in every way, I was really amazed!
As it turned out, the Amazon page was for a TaoTao but I wound up getting an HHH which looked virtually identical, however, it has much nicer rims, and the little crescent light on the hood which never worked on the TaoTao's Ive owned- works, and it has it's own switch.
Overall I think the appearance and all of the HHH is better than the TaoTao, moreover- the steel cage it was shipped it showed a LOT more care in forming the various braces and padding them, it even had 3/4x3/4 kick rails welded on the bottom, it was a much better made shipping cage.
It arrived on Weds, the MCO, bill of sale and paperwork all arrived in the mail Saturday though the USPS tracking said it was expected to be delivered to me Friday and I had planned to do the DMV after work Friday at noon...
I did have one problem with the MCO, my state NOW requires the MCO contain a statement that the max speed is 39MPH and it didn't say that, so I sent a message thru Amazon Sunday and was amazed to get a response from Chris;
Hi, I may run into a problem registering this scooter, per the Iowa DMV;
"The key to whether a vehicle is a moped or motorcycle is its maximum operating speed, as certified by the original manufacturer. The speed of a moped cannot exceed 39 miles per hour on level ground unassisted by human power. The top speed of 39 mph must be printed on the manufacturer’s certificate of origin.
If the vehicle is a moped, the MCO must state that the vehicle’s maximum operating speed is 39 mph or less."
My MCO does not specifically state this at all.

All offices are closed for the weekend, can I pls get back to you with more info on Monday..?
Thank you for your patience in this matter
Chris
The person in charge of the MSO dept and and who would know more this comes later in the day on Mondays.
I will forward your concern to him and he will respond to you soon as he is in the office on Monday.
I am very sure the MSO dept can update all info that you have requested on the Title .
We have sold many scooters to Iowa in the past years and they have never asked for more info on the MSOs...? Did you go to the DMV to register the scooter..?
ChrisHi Chris, thank you! as I understand it, Iowa fairly recently changed the moped law to allow for slightly higher speed- 39 mph (it was 35 I believe) with the provision that insurance is now required, and the 39 mph max speed statement being required now on the MCO the actual statement is on the DOT web site here;
Ive owned 2 mopeds and never ran into this before now, and you said you had sold several to Iowa with out this issue, so it appears that this change is fairly recent, your MCO dept should update it's records on this now.

So I rec'd a call from a lady there this afternoon and she confirmed with me what I needed, sent me a photo of the replacement, fixed MCO for approval, it looked ok to me, and within a few minutes she already sent me the tracking number for it!
I did have one other issue not the seller's fault at all, Amazon charged me sales tax on this purchase despite the Iowa DOT web site saying registerable motor vehicles are SALES TAX EXEMPT, so I contacted the seller and they said Amazon is the one who is collecting that, so I contacted Amazon about FIVE times in live chat, twice they said someone would get back to me in 48 hours and didn't, so I filed a complaint with my CC for the amountand freaking Amazon went back to the seller's money and was going to take it out of THEM!
The seller called me and said that if I couldn't resolve it with Amazon, they would send me a company check, I told them no thank you, hold off, maybe the DMV will credit it when I register.
So that really impressed me more too, I cancelled the chargeback.
I highly recommend this outfit, they are in Dallas Tx, on Amazon they are "Smart deals now" but I asked the lady while I had her in chat, if they had a non Amazon web site and she said they did, so I asked for it, and it is
ntxpowersports.com/All the communications were very pleasant, they rushed out a replacement MCO, I will definitely buy from them again and in fact I am considering buying another exactly the same to store as a sort of spare, but this time I'll buy directly not thru Amazon.
