In an effort to try to get the tune correct I bought a cylinder head temperature gauge. The problem is most of the gauges only read up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit well as we know with a two-stroke that's useless. So I did find a company that reads up to 300° c which easily is going to cover the full temperature range of what a two-stroke scooter should be you just need to be able to convert it Centigrade to Fahrenheit. In order to install it you need to pull the head and you have to grind down one and a half fins because the probe itself that fits under the plug is too large and then even when doing this you need to grind down a portion of the copper on the probe so it will seat flush. On completion what do I find out the digital meter is garbage it's your typical Chinese shit that's horribly inaccurate. So I wasted 2 hours of my time doing this for a part that's useless. Lesson to be learned don't buy a cylinder head temperature gauge buy an EGT probe it's a lot easier you just remove the exhaust from the bike drill a hole weld in a bung and you're done or use a clamp drill a hole and use a clamp an EGT meter is going to be instantly responsive there's numerous available from legitimate companies and that's what I should have done. So the cylinder head temperature gauge is getting removed I'm going to send it back to Amazon get my money back for this garbage and I'll just go by an EGT probe pull the exhaust drill it and use that method to tune.
