Hey guys I’m new to the forum, my name is Bo! I love anything with an engine honestly, I have built race cars, some pretty cool custom bikes, and now my new found hobby is making some pretty fast scooters lol. I’m a fan of Yamaha, I really like the quality you get from the brand! I have a 2003 Yamaha zuma yw50 2 stroke scooter, I got it for free from a guy around the corner from where I live. He actually had 3 Zumas, 1 complete, and 2 were just the frame with complete engines and both wheels, and 1 had all the electrical harness and everything the other one didn’t. Basically I took the engines and front wheels off the frames to keep and scrapped the frames. The guy said the complete zuma was running when parked 15 years ago, the frame with the complete harness he said wasn’t getting spark, and the frame with no electrical anything he wasn’t sure did to the fact he couldn’t start it. The complete zuma I did a simple maintenance job basically, carb cleanness, new spark plug, fresh gas, new fuel lines, fresh 2t oil and oil pump, and a deep clean of the whole scooter and it runs fine. The other engines I am going to get running and I’m swapping the motors onto my other 2 Chinese scooters. One is actually the scooter that got me into scooters and it’s a 2010 Flyscooter hero 50 with a 2t Minarelli engine, a blown Minarelli engine with a lot of miles so the actual Yamaha Minarelli engine is a good upgrade for me. The other engine will go into a gen iv icebear maddog frame I have, it’s basically a complete scooter minus the gy6 engine and rear wheel. So again a good upgrade for me…. If the Yamaha motor works! Other than the scooters, I have a 2021 Yamaha tw200 with a 215cc big bore kit, and 17x3.5 front supermoto rim and fat tire, and a 17x4.25 rear supermoto rim and a even fatter tire, a 3 inch rear swing arm extension, a relocated fender so it mounts under the triple tree, upgraded suspension, upgraded intake, upgraded exhaust, upgraded ignition,
And a few other goodies i can’t think of at the moment, but for a little 200cc it looks and sounds pretty nice and is a lot faster than stock! A lot faster, but still not really that fast compared to other larger bikes but for a 200 it’s pretty dang fun. Lastly it’s kinda funny, when it comes to the car scene I’m a ford guy all the way, and my dream car was always the super sleeper ford Taurus sho! Witch is funny because the cyclinder head on the 3.0 and 3.2 and even the later v8 sho engines were made by Yamaha for ford! And I actually own a silver 1995 ford Taurus sho with the 3.2l v6 and automatic transmission. The car is heavily modified on the exterior but the engine is mostly stock besides the catback exhaust system and the cold air intake! So yeah anyways I got a little bit off topic there but you get the point, I like Yamaha, scooters are fun, fast scooters are more fun, motorcycles, car, and I want steak and eggs for dinner really bad for some reason. lol thank you guys and have a good one

Welcome to the forum Bo.
It sounds like you have the same problem as a lot of us here. At least scooters are cheap to build until you get to the race stuff.
