I have broken the head off of my CVT drain bolt. I can't get my drill under the bike to extract the broken bolt. I don't have a motorcycle lift or jack. It's a 2021 Solana 49cc. Anyone have ideas on how to get it out? Thank you much!🙂

Can you rent a right angle drill? Looks similar to a ratchet. If not you might have to pull the engine and lay it on its side on a workbench .It’s really not so difficult on scoots. Hopefully the threads aren’t seized, but drilling through the middle and using the proper size easy out works well.

Lay it on its side. Either drain the carb or put something under it to catch/absorb any fuel spilled. You should have enough access to drill then. There are some 'different' broken screw extractors that come in a kit of 4-5 available online. They are left-hand bits that drill in a short distance and may remove the remains just by rotating CCW. Once drilled, swap the bit end-for-end and it should cut into the hole previously drilled. Obviously a drill that will rotate CCW is needed. I suppose that an impact driver would even work better. The alternative is to weld a nut to the remains and then apply torque to the nut. Heat sometimes helps,(many) so welding would possibly loosen the threads. Normal weld will not attach to the aluminumim of the case, so welding should not cause problems of the nut attaching to the case. You can cushion the plastics using folded/rolled carpets or cushions as used on patio chairs, etc. I would use a good thick tarp if concerned about welding or grease damage to cushions. Cardboard can also be used to cushion and protect. tom

Thanks for the help! Pilli, I could not find a right angle drill to rent. Thanks for the suggestion, though! GrumpyUnk, thanks for the instruction! I was extremely careful and took my time and had it out in a matter minutes! Cheers!
