I have a question about my 2014 Tao Tao scooter. It came with a gy6 139qmb shipped from the factory. I recently noticed some play in the crankshaft so I ordered a naraku offline. I had already planned on replacing the crankshaft oil seals obviously. But the rear seals for the transmission are completely fine so should they be replaced too since they cost so little and are completely accessible with the engine removed and cases split ? Or left as is till they need to be dealt with later ? I probably answered my own question but second opinions are always appreciated 😆

If the seals in the gearbox are good, it's your call. You could use this as a reason to open the gearbox and check the bearings.

It's ten years old, but you haven't told us the mileage. As the crankshaft has gone I'm guessing quite high. I would just replace them. And check out the bearings while in there like Brent said.
