I'm running a standard 157QMJ and installed a breather tube, NCY or other. My oil is at right in the middle of hashmarks with the dipstick. When the tube is installed, it seems like an awful lot of oil spits up the tube even though it's where it should be. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried the tube on a gy6, or other scooter. Did you get a bunch of spitting up the breather tube? Did it affect performance? I can't say I have noticed much more than a minor oil drip and another engine noise outlet.

If you check the crankcase oil level with the center stand down, you will end up with too much oil in the sump. If the level is too high, you will likely get oil blown out of the vent tube more than normal. I do not remember the 'performance' breathers design, but would say that if it is the hose attached to the rocker arm/cam cover, the tube can be lengthened and run up one of the frame rails. Oil in that case would have to climb a bit to be able to spew out of the vent tube. IOW, the vapor/oil can be puffed up the tube, but it should run out of puff before it would exit the tube and cause drippage. Some have fitted containers to allow any liquid to be gathered and drained during regular maintenance. The containers make the liquid impact internally, and then fall to the bottom of the catch can. tom
