I cut a set of 1E40QMB cases for someone today and cut all the way through one section. It was for a 78.5mm diameter crank. Common size. Nothing special. I look it over and realize that there’s a recess in the area where I broke through. Same area on my case is filled flat. The owner says the engine is from a 2015 Keeway Hurricane. It’s QJ. So I know that stuff used to be branded CPI. I assume it’s like Vento scoots where Baotian or something like that took over in 2008. Maybe redesigned it. I haven’t cut a lot of short cases, so maybe I’m wrong. It would be easier to backfill the area before cutting rather than repair after, so take a look back there before cutting.
