Hello! I have a Piaggio zip 2T 2000year 50cc model and I have a few problems that i really need help fixing them so if you can HELP!! 1. My headlights aren't working checked the switch everything is good there the cables to the bulb recently changed and the bulb socket resistance 0.02 so i guess its good, but they still don't work everything in the electricity side works but low beams and high beams not 2. The most serious problem the engine is not idling let me explain the situation to you. I have a fully stock piaggio zip only mallosi carbon reed valves and some kind of sport exhaust (seller told me). Last night it started ran good but after a day now it starts if i give it throttle and it doesn't idle, the carb jetting is main jet-78 needle on the forth setting pilot jet cant remember but around 40, carburator is 17.5mm PHVA dellorto. outside temp is around 13C, at sea level. I just want to tune it to stay idling not die out. Thank you!

You need to check the current with a multimeter. Check the earth first on the beep continuity setting. If that's good. Just work your way back from the bulb holder testing for 12 volts. A wiring diagram will help identify the colours used. It should be easy enough to find one online. If you have checked the pilot jet and it's clear. It might be as simple as adjusting the idle or mixture screw. This time of year it can sometimes need tweaking. The main jet sounds a little large for a stock Piaggio. But if the plug looks okay, I would just leave it.

Checked the pilot jet and main jet everything is clear. Still same problem only starts if i give it more throttle tried working with the mixure screw it started with kickstart ran well then i turned it off came back 20min later same problem. Could it be the choke? Or that i have a leak in the air box manifold?

It could possibly be the auto choke. It's easy to check.. If you undo it from the carb, which is a couple of screws. Then attach a positive and negative to the connections. It should warm up and get longer. The best way is to lay it on something. Then Mark where the top is before adding the power.

The auto choke rarely go wrong. So if yours is okay. I don't see the point of changing it. There is a wax cylinder inside. It expands as it has a charge put through it and beats up. Quite basic with little to go wrong.
