Hello everyone. My 1st post here.. I received this barely new 2005 Vento Triton R4 a few weeks ago and the owner said he lost the keys. He had it in his shed for over 15 years. It had 300 miles on it. So I ordered a switch for it. The new switch has 4 wires while the original has 5. I cut the wires of the old ignition to connect them to the new switch before I realized the new has 4 wires. Now what to do? I was able to rewove the back of the old switch with 5 wire points and attach it to the new switch key part. The 5 wires i have are: 1- Red 2- Black 3- Green 4- Black and White stripe. 5 Red and White stripe. I have 5 spot but I do not know where all the wires exactly go. I need help and I came here after I spent many hours looking for an answer to no avail. If anyone here has the same moped they can help me by taking a photo of the switch back with wires exposed. I used a multimeter to test for continuity and figured red and black although I had them switched but i just removed the pins in the connector and swiped them instead of soldering them again. My problem is the Red/White wire. where does it go and what does it do. The lights, signals lights and horn all have stopped working after I changed the switch. Before this I jimmied the original lock and the lights and horn worked with the battery or when the moped was running. This is my 1st post so thanks for help

Thanks Bud. I have 5 wires. This shows only four. Mine has these wires 1- Red, which we all know goes to battery. 2- R/W, I am not sure where this should connect to in which position. 3- Green, Which is earth and connects to another wire to kill engine. 4- Black/White. Not sure what 5- Black, which is what. On switch connects Red and R/W? Off connects Green and ? What about Black?. thanks all. The moped starters but no horn, signal light, brake light or electric start. It started when I replaced the switch.

Sounds like the part of the switch that makes the connection from battery + to accessories is not correct right now. That's what should let lights and all of that work. It varies, but red/white is commonly ign switched accessory power. Also, make sure your engine turns off with the switch. If the engine turns on and off with the switch and you can get accessories working, it should be good to go at that point.
