More mind boggling stupid questions. Sister in law has a TNG Venice. Compression was low( 65psi and would not even 'pop')...so I replaced the whole top end...reed cage had a large chip in a pedal and 'in line' fuel petcock had a leak..so I replaced them all along with the fuel lines....Cleaned carb.....both jets...making sure to blow carb cleaner through every orifice in the carb and replaced fuel filter..applied voltage to the enricher and it works as well(even so after30 seconds of running it would not have shut off..so that can't be it). Runs and idles like a champ when first started....for about 30 seconds....then bogs and dies out and won't restart or even pop. Let it set 8 hours or overnight.....it fired right up instantly! Runs 30 seconds idle through wot...dies and won't restart! I don't think it is fuel starvation problem because it should not be getting fuel to the bowl while sitting...because the petcock is designed to shut off fuel when not running.(btw I sucked on the vacuum line and petcock pumps nicely...with no leak or dribble when I don't) My best guess is that the float is out of adjustment...causing it to load up while running then die out. Therefore after it sits....the excess fuel in the engine evaporates...and 8-24 hours later it will fire right back up. ...after a few hours it will start fine...then die...am I missing something?... I know you need compression....to get vacuum for the intake as well so I checked compression and it reads 140 psi.Anybody ever seen this before..(let it sit...it starts..then dies for several hours) Been a bad week for scooters over here....wow....
btw it is a minarelli 2 stroke....in case anybody asks....even though I did mention 'reed cage'..they may miss it and ask if it is 2 stroke...
