Every time I fire up Sasha after she sits for a few days she smokes horribly for a few minutes. I think this is due to the check valve on the carb allowing oil to seep past even when the engine is off. (When I first got her the exhaust pipe had a lot of oil in it)
I have a spare carburetor with a check valve on it from that Sundiro I bought I can try but I wanna know if I can just swap out the check valves cause that would take less time. Are they pressed in or do they un-screw? I don't wanna damage anything.
Thanks!

Thanks! I tried to pull one out but it didn't want to come out so I went ahead and started to swap carbs and after some checking, the check valve is a one way valve that allows flow into the carb but not back out to keep air from infiltrating the line I guess. Anyway, I read a post a while back that said it was spring loaded so the oil can't flow in unless it's pressurized by the pump but I was able to blow through both of them easily. No resistance whatsoever on both valves and one is faulty cause it allows flow in both directions so....What gives? My yellow scooter is pre-mix and it doesn't smoke a lot when cold so it has to be excessive oil right?

The "usual" is the check valve is dirty...... a little carb cleaner and a blow out, and if it is going to be fixed... it is.
The check valve is a spring loaded ball (that the spring holds closed until oil pressure opens it).
Most seem to leak oil to varying degrees.

Okay so the one I have on there has a weak spring or something. Screw it! I went ahead and put it back the way it was. It only smokes for a couple minutes or so. Once the pipe/muffler gets good and hot it stops. If you start it daily it doesn't smoke much. Only does it if you leave it sit for a few days. I'm gonna put her up on CL and see what kinds of offers I can get for it. Thanks for the clarification reveen.
